Peanut Butter Banana Pupcakes
Ingredients:
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter (make sure it does not contain xylitol)
- 1/2 cup mashed ripe banana (about 1 banana)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup water
For the Frosting:
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
Method:
-
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners or lightly grease it.
-
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour and baking powder.
-
Combine Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the applesauce, peanut butter, mashed banana, honey, egg, and water until well combined.
-
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
-
Fill the Muffin Tin: Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full.
-
Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a pupcake comes out clean.
-
Cool: Allow the pupcakes to cool in the tin for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
-
Prepare the Frosting: While the pupcakes are cooling, prepare the frosting by mixing the Greek yogurt and peanut butter together until smooth.
-
Frost the Pupcakes: Once the pupcakes are completely cool, frost them with the yogurt and peanut butter mixture.
-
Serve: Serve the pupcakes to your dog in moderation. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Notes:
- Always ensure the peanut butter you use does not contain xylitol, as it is toxic to dogs.
- These pupcakes are meant as a treat and should not replace your dog's regular diet.
- If your dog has any specific dietary restrictions or allergies, adjust the ingredients accordingly.
